New York Police Department (NYPD) officers were called to a home in Rochester, New York, early Sunday morning after an 18-year-old suspect was found dead in a bathtub.
The suspect, who has not been identified, was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police said the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to CBS New York.
The victim, a 23-year old Rochester resident named Anthony Foye, was found in a bathroom, with blood pouring from the tub and inside the bathtub, according the Rochester News and Review.
Investigators have not released a motive for the shooting, but sources told CBS New Zealand that Foyes family was upset by the officer’s actions.
Police have not said what led to the shooting.
The victim, who was pronounced dead, is the son of a police officer, and his family had a long history of police contact with the department, according CBS New Jersey.
