Phoenix Suns star Alex Poythress on ‘a real battle’ with concussion – 5 live reporter
The Suns star was battling concussion symptoms before the team’s game against the Suns in the second quarter.
Poythresses absence meant the Suns had to replace veteran forward Aaron Gray.
“I’ve been trying to focus on my footy, but obviously it’s something that’s going to come and it’s a real battle with concussion,” he said.
Phoenix Suns coach Rodney Eade was adamant Poystress would be fit for the team in the coming weeks.
“Alex’s a big-bodied, strong-bodied player,” he told the team website.
“I know he has been battling some issues over the last few weeks.
He’s been doing some of his work at the club and his conditioning has been outstanding.”
The Suns will begin pre-season training on Friday and will play their first home game on Sunday. AAP/ABC
