Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal transfer rumours: What’s next?
The Arsenal transfer window opens on Friday, and Arsene Wenger is set to sign a new deal for striker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
However, it is understood that the Gunners want to make a move for Liverpool star Luis Suarez before the summer, with reports in Germany suggesting the Premier League champions are ready to meet his £60million release clause.
Arsenal boss Arsene Chomack will be desperate to strengthen his attack and a new striker would bolster his side, and it is believed that Arsenal have identified a number of top players they would like to strengthen in the summer.
One player the Guners are reportedly looking at is Barcelona star Neymar.
Arsenal are desperate to keep their best players, and they are likely to sign one of the world’s best strikers this summer.
The Catalan giants have been linked with the 25-year-old and he is the latest top striker to be linked with a move to Arsenal, with Manchester United, Barcelona and Inter Milan also all reported to be in the running.
The Gunners are also interested in Chelsea’s Diego Costa, and the Chelsea boss is said to have a “huge” interest in signing the striker.
However if the Gunner want to bring in a striker in the winter window, then they will need to bring one of their top players in, as the player’s contract is set for renewal.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Southampton’s Jermain Defoe, with Liverpool and Barcelona also said to be interested in the England international.
But Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that Defoe is not for sale this summer, and has been clear that the club would prefer to sign another striker this summer in January.
The England international has been linked to a move away from Anfield for years, and is understood to be the favourite to sign for Barcelona.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has also said that he would prefer a striker this winter, and his side have been strongly linked with both Luis Suarez and Diego Costa.
Liverpool are believed to be looking to strengthen their attack with the signing of a number one striker, with the club set to make the signing, and there are reports in the German media that the Reds are prepared to meet the £60m release clause of Liverpool star Suarez.
The German club are looking to offload Suarez for £65m this summer to bring the club back into the Champions League, with Arsenal also interested.
Liverpool have also been linked in recent weeks with a possible move for Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, with sources in Spain also saying the club are ready and willing to meet a £60 million release clause for Suarez.
Liverpool striker Luis Suárez is on the verge of leaving Barca for a fee of around £60.5m, with Barca manager Luis Enrique making it clear on Friday that the forward is out of contract at the end of the season.
Suarez’s departure could also be the final straw for Liverpool boss Luis Enrique, who is believed to have been forced to make changes in his squad this summer after Luis Suórez’s departure.
Liverpool had previously been linked by Barcelona, but it is said that the Catalan giants are now ready to make an approach for the Brazilian.
The 25-man squad for the 2017-18 season will be released in the coming days, with all the new signings set to be announced in the next few days.
Arsenal’s new signing, Oxlades-Chaumartain, is expected to make his debut for the club on Saturday against Stoke City, and will make his Arsenal debut in their Premier League clash against Everton on Saturday night.

Arsenal, on Wednesday, confirmed the signing for the next season of the 25 year old striker.
Chicharites-Chomack is the second player the club have signed this summer with the Argentine, with a number two also arriving in the deal.
The Frenchman, who spent the first three years of his career with Arsenal, signed a three-year contract with the Gunning in January, and also joined the club’s youth academy this summer as he was allowed to continue playing.
The 26-year old has become a regular for the Gunned, and scored his first goal for the side on his debut in the 2-0 win over Fulham in the Capital One Cup on Saturday.
The Argentine forward scored his second goal in the win over the Whites, but was not included in the Gunnies’ squad for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Swansea City.
Arsenal also announced the signing yesterday of winger Joel Campbell from Fulham, with his signing complete after being released by the club in the January transfer window.
The 19-year york man has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Fulham this season, with Campbell set to join the Gunnes on loan until the end, with Wenger hoping to add another forward this summer if the right offers come in.
