San Antonio’s new $1 billion stadium could be worth $1.2 billion to local economy
SAN ANTONIO — If the Texas Longhorns are to host an NCAA championship game in 2022, a $1-billion new stadium could help offset some of the cost of the new stadium.
The city of San Antonio will build the new football stadium and the stadium will host other events, such as concerts and conventions.
The project to build a new football facility and other events at the new Qualcomm Stadium near downtown San Antonio has already been funded.
The cost of building the new soccer stadium is estimated at $1,838 million.
San Antonio is hoping to recoup some of that investment by building an indoor baseball stadium.
